OUR HISTORY

Save the Nation Association ( SNA ) is a non- profit; non-religious, non -political, indigenous development organization started in its begging has its initiation from the founder and Executive Director Mr. Mesganaw Bimrew himself is one of the victims of traffic accident as he lost his beloved father due to sudden traffic accident. His father was a pedestrian and while he was walking on the road side he was hit by the car named Higer public bus around Megenanea Amche ring road, and the association got its license and get its legal entity from Ethiopian charities and societies agency with certificate number 3403 with the vision of preventing children, students, and communities from eminent traffic injury by which reduce property damages and death related to traffic injury. Furthermore, the organization provides financial aid and material support vulnerable children and students from low income families in the project area.

In 2015, SNA became an official member of the Global Alliance of NGO’s for Road Safety. The Alliance provides concise information about the activities of NGOs to non-NGO actors with an interest and a stake in road safety: governments, foundations, intergovernmental agencies, the media, and others. The Alliance also acts as a coordinator and mobilizer for activities surrounding the Decade of Action 2011–2020. Our work is fully supported by the Alliance and is a valuable long-term partner.

At the beginning, SNA received a generous start-up grant from U.S Embassy who is partner of SNA and has been a supporter of our work since the inception in 2013. U.S Embassy and SNA have a long-term partnership and are working together to improve the road safety for young people and community in the country.
